Commission Independence

The members of the Commission are completely independent of the institutions they assess: financially; methodologically; and editorially. Its members do not belong to, work for, or depend upon the institutions they assess. They are, however, members of the Church—as clergy, consecrated persons, or laypeople.

The pilot project was funded by Notre Dame Law School (Indiana, United States) and Villanueva University (Madrid, Spain). Moving forward, the Commission's work will be conducted under the auspices of Notre Dame Law School.
